I was in the middle of recounting my experiences from yesterday while attempting to resolve my anxiety about the pending day of full on activities when I received a text.
My brother Trevor leaves this morning to serve our country in Afghanistan.
Pride. Fear. Hope. Anger. Sadness. He is committed to this service which helps me accept it. His strength helps me feel less hopeless. This experience also reminds to be grateful for the comfort and security that his service allows. As a practicing Quaker, I am still working on the best way to support him while promoting peace.
In other news: I will be making a double-rainbow-balloon-bag-reuse stairwell installation for the Separation Anxiety show that opens this Friday at Space 1026.
